The unwritten story behind the eyes of a woman
It was a long drive from the church, I loved observing the passersby and nature while listening to music with my earpiece; it was my peace from the boisterous environment not having to worry but enjoying the world with my eyes. As we drove through the market, I observed the women in the market, there were so many, some buying while others selling under the hot sun, and, the sound of laughter from people talking, the wailing of children, others beckoning on to customers, it was truly just the way an African writer would portray it but there was something special I noticed about the women their eyes beamed differently from the women selling to the women buying and the other walking by; it seems unwritten but substantial and that is called womanhood.
Womanhood is a journey filled with stories of growth, resilience, and triumph. While celebrating the achievements and progress made by women, it is equally important to shed light on the unspoken struggles that many women face. These struggles often go unnoticed due to stigmatization and societal expectations placed upon them.
The pain experienced by women is multifaceted, ranging from the physical challenges of childbirth to the emotional burdens carried daily. The expectations placed upon women can be overwhelming — to balance career aspirations with familial responsibilities, to meet societal beauty standards, and to navigate through a world that sometimes still undervalues their contributions.
Yet despite these struggles, women continue to thrive. They persevere in the face of adversity and break down barriers that limit their potential. Society must acknowledge and address these challenges for true progress towards gender equality.
By understanding and empathizing with the unspoken struggle of a woman, we create an environment that allows for growth and empowerment. Together, we can pave the way for a future where every woman’s voice is heard, her worth recognized, and her journey celebrated without limitation or prejudice.
